In 1842, a
Georgian-style Coaching Inn was built
along-side the Nine Mile River in the hamlet of
Port Albert.
Much of the Inn remains original including
the cherry wood bar in the pub. The north-bound
highway (#21) once passed the front door of the
Inn, carrying many weary, hungry travelers to
the Queen's Bush Settlement.
The Inn has
served the traveling public with food, drink
and accommodations since 1842.
Port Albert
is a small lakeside village nestled up against
the oceanic
Lake Huron shoreline in one of the prettiest
river valleys in Ontario.
